Fun -In An Odd Sort of Way

About A Sincere and Tiny Footed One

Famous Relative???? Mar. 8th, 2008 @ 05:36 pm
Well, I have something worth posting. It seems I'm related in some way to - wait for it - Snoop Dogg. I'm just not sure what to say. The connection seems to be through his dad, and some of the same names are popping up. My mom says they're all related in some way, so I apparently have a famous relative. I think it's hilarious.

More distinguished, but not nearly as newsworthy, I might also be descendant from William the Conquerer.

Happy Song Feb. 10th, 2008 @ 01:15 pm
I just found a song "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5 (I've never even heard of them before) and I've been singing it over and over and it just makes me happy. I'm not even sure why, it does. I think it's the beat, not the lyrics or anything. But, every time I sing it, it just makes me grin.

Disaster Magnet Jan. 31st, 2008 @ 07:41 pm
We got evacuated about an hour ago because of a tornado warning. Fortunately, we didn't have to stay long. But, I think the disasters are following me. We went to one of the buildings on the base. I was almost banished to the kids area, because one part of the building was a bar and they thought I was a teenager.

Weird Jan. 6th, 2008 @ 03:50 pm
I woke up this morning in a fit of giggles for no good reason. I had a dream that wasn't funny and didn't even make sense. Folders were turning into sheets in the dream. No, I don't know what that means. And, I know it isn't funny, but I'm giggling just typing it.

Merry Christmas! Dec. 25th, 2007 @ 07:53 pm
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Hope you all had a good time.

As for the loot, it was pretty good. I got 4 books I've been wanting (with more on the way, because some weren't sent off early enough to get here for Christmas), a pair of pajamas, a sweatshirt, a blanket with polar bears on it, two berets (my mom remembered my hat fetish and my French fetish) and a telescope. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see anything with the telescope but close up details of streetlights yet. Hopefully I'm not so blind that when there's a moon out, I won't be able to see that. I've started on one of the books, took a nap under the blanket, tried out the telescope, and modeled one of the berets.

Well, first, early Merry Christmas, in case I don't post tomorrow.

Now, dream time! I just don't understand my brain. I had a dream that I watched a The Golden Girls movie. Only, it was The Golden Girls: The Elementary School Years. And, then, there was an interview with the original actresses, and their elementary school counterparts. I just don't know.

Yes, I know it's been so long I can't even say how long. I'm not even sure I remember how to post. So, first, we went through a second flood back in Maurice. Not even from a hurricane. Just a heavy rainstorm and one busted pump. Actually, I think only our dead in street flooded. Which meant putting the things that weren't damaged by the water in storage, because the house was filled with mold and it stank, plus there was no saying the next heavy rain storm wouldn't do the same thing. So, we moved to a trailer park, and then we moved to a military base, because my mom's friend is in the military, so we're guests of his. So, we're in a trailer on the base, which is definitely not house sized, but bigger than the camper. And, now, we're going to different towns, looking for a house. Still somewhere in Louisiana.

So, I'm sorry for the long silence.
» Mother on the loose
My mom has discovered chat rooms. She's been lurking in one and talking to different people privately. Mostly, she just likes to read the conversations, especially when there's fighting. But, men tend to get obsessed with my mom, so she'll probably have a whole bunch of them wanting to talk and meet her and run away with her.

Actually I don't have much to say. It was pretty predicatable. The only surprise was Eddie Murphy not winning Best Supporting Actor for Dreamgirls (Alan Arkin won for Little Miss Sunshine). I found the show to be fairly boring. My mom got a nice treat when Robert Downey Jr presented an award, since she has a crush on him. I liked the shadow dancers, but I thought Ellen DeGeneres was dull.

But, here's a list of the big and not at all surprising winners. Best Actor: Forest Whitaker. Best Actress: Helen Mirren. Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Hudson Best Director: Martin Scorcese(I joked that if he didn't win this time, he was going to kill the actual winner). Best Picture: The Departed.

So, as far as classic movies go, it's a good tv time. The day before yesterday, TCM showed Murder on The Orient Express. Which is significant only because Anthony Perkins was in it. Last night, as a special treat for me (okay, I'm considering it a special treat for me) there was this classic movie that I had on tape before, but lost. So, I got to tape it again. In a couple of weeks, this WWII picture comes on TCM. I've never seen it before, but the description looks interesting. And after that, two more Anthony Perkins films. One in March, one in April. This will keep me busy. Not so great on the tv show front (with the exception of one story arc for my favorite character on Grey's Anatomy. And, I'm trying to ignore certain sick interpretations of the arc). Oh, and the fact that Criminal Minds is still beating Lost. That's good news. Mainly for the fact that I know it will drive some tv critics crazy.
